This is my first official Spring 2010 collection report. I'm going to cover a new designer every week as one of my main features of the blog. I chose Versace for obvious reasons: Donatella is a genius, the details are amazing, and the collection is right on trend in many different ways. You could wear any of these pieces right off the runway which is what appealed to me. It's more realistic. I've seen so many collections in the past that just wouldn't work for an average person in the real world. The bright colors and Alice in Wonderland-themed details make this a standout collection that has mass appeal for people of all different ages. Many of the dresses and tops feature playing cards, rabbits, and brocade designs. The prices for any of these pieces are anywhere from $700-$2400. Versace can be bought at neimanmarcus.com, saks.com, and ebay.com among others. If you live in a larger city(New York, Paris, Milan, etc.), you can buy directly from a Versace boutique. You can go to versace.com or call 1888-721-7219 for more info also! Happy Shopping!!!
As I flipped through Vogue's Spring 2010 issue, I had to look twice when I discovered the bright purple Versace ad feauturing the beautiful model Georgia May Jagger, who is relatively new to the fashion world. She is gaining popularity due to scoring a modeling gig with Hudson Jeans and Rimmel London. She's one to watch out for in the future!
All of these pieces could easily go together and could be mixed and matched in whatever way that pleases the buyer. I can't quit gushing over the scales and braiding details on the bright purple bag in the ad feauturing Ms. Jagger. The platform pumps and booties with brocade detailing are to die for also. The use of pinks, purples, and greens would remind most of Easter, but the colors combine effortlessly to be attractive and represent the designer's aesthetic.
My favorite bag is the purple bucket bag feautured in the runway picture. The bucket bag is right on trend along with the beautiful bright purple shade seen everywhere this spring. I also love the mix of colors on some of the other bags such as the purple, yellow and black print bag and the pink, green, and peach chain-strap bag. I hope everyone enjoyed this little write-up on my favorite collection of the Spring 2010 season. I would really love to hear everyone's feedback and comments or what collection you cant quit raving about. Feel free to post pics of your faves, I'll comment you back!!! Enjoy, and I hope you see potential in this blog, this is my passion and I've always wanted to do this but without all of you it isn't possible. If you like it, spread the word, I'd very much appreciate it.
Much Love,
Brittany Williams from Real World Runway
P.S. I have tons of ideas for cool features I have to work on. So keep coming back, I promise you will love some of the daily bits I'm going to put on here. I am going to do a daily shoe, article of clothing, and accessory that are all under $100 with info on where to get it. Also, whenever I list clothes from now on, I will give you a lot of pics and links to where to buy. Thanks again!!!
